ROMAN OPENWORK GOLD RING WITH DROP-SHAPED GARNET.
Ca. AD 400 - 600.
A gold ring with a drop-shaped garnet set in a high collet framed by four small volutes forming a floral calyx. The bezel is applied onto an openwork hoop composed of twin rounded edges linked by a continuous undulating wire.
