ROMAN RED CARNELIAN INTAGLIO DEPICTING A SCORPION IN GOLD RING.
Ca. AD 50 - 200.
A red carnelian intaglio engraved with a scorpion. The stone is set in a small navette-shaped gold collet with a narrow upright rim. The setting merges into a gold ring with a tapering hoop of near-circular section.
