Description
COLLECTION OF ROMAN BRONZE MANUS-FICA AMULETS/PENDANTS.
Ca. AD 1 - 300.
A collection of seven cast bronze manus-fica pendants. Six are composite amulets: a central scrotum forms the core, with a protruding phallus to one side and an opposing arm terminating in a manus-fica gesture (thumb between index and middle fingers), each surmounted by a large integral suspension loop. The seventh is a simpler variant with a phallus at one end and a manus-fica at the other, without a loop.
