Description

ETRUSCAN COILED GOLD RING WITH SCARAB DEPICTING SPHINX. Ca. 500 - 400 BC. A green stone scaraboid engraved on the flat underside with a left-facing sphinx. The female-headed creature is seated with swept plumed wings and a curled tail. Set in a gold ring with a twisted hoop and secured with close-set binding wire.
