Alexandra (Alice) Bruschetti-Mitrokhina (1872–1942) was a Russian sculptor, ceramist, painter and draughtswoman of Italian origin. Trained at the Moscow School of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture under Sergei Volnukhin, Pavel Trubetskoy, Isaac Levitan, Valentin Serov and Konstantin Korovin, she established herself as one of the leading artists of the Russian ceramic revival. She worked notably for Savva Mamontov’s Abramtsevo workshop,
then collaborated with the Imperial Porcelain Factory and, after the Revolution, with the Petrograd State Porcelain Factory. Awarded for her works in porcelain, earthenware and majolica, she is particularly well known for her decorative statuettes, notably her ballet dancers and her satirical figures from the revolutionary period. In 1910, she married the painter, engraver and illustrator Dmitry Mitrokhin (1883–1973), one of the most important Soviet masters of engraving and book illustration.
