Description
Henri EVENEPOEL (1872–1899) The Coquettes. Drawing on paper, bearing the stamp ‘H.E.’ in the bottom left-hand corner and a barely legible handwritten inscription in the top right-hand corner. 19.5 x 10.5 cm. Provenance: Collection of Madame Maurice Evenepoel, the artist’s sister-in-law. De Vuyst auction, 13 December 2003. Note: This drawing was part of a collection of drawings by Henri Evenepoel, to which was attached a handwritten letter dated 15 July 1944. The letter states that Charles De Mey authenticated the drawings in the album by affixing the ‘H.E.’ stamp to them.
