Description
Rik SLABBINCK (1914–1991)
Transport Klingels, 1946. Oil on canvas, inscribed ‘to Nelle Josette’, signed and dated ‘Slabbinck 46’ in the bottom right-hand corner, titled ‘Transport Klingels’ on the reverse. Approx. 40 x 50 cm.
Note:
‘Transport Klingels’ likely refers to a removal company operating in the Brussels region in the immediate post-war period. Dated 1946, the work illustrates Slabbinck’s shift towards simplified forms and a bolder, more colourful palette.
