Ink painting on silk, depicting peonies and magnolias.
This painting depicts peonies in full bloom, accompanied by white magnolia blossoms. The work is distinguished by the delicacy of its execution and its refined, poetic atmosphere.
Ink and colour on silk.
Two seals are affixed in the top left-hand corner: the first, rectangular in shape, bears the inscription ‘Congyu Zhai’ (叢玉斎/丛玉斋); the second, square in shape, bears the inscription ‘Xingshi/su Jushi’ (行事/素居士). 69 x 48 cm, slight wear and minor imperfections.
