A Large Silver Pheasant with Openwork tail feathers, sugar caster, Netherlands, Leeuwarden 18th C. Silver, 390g. A silver figurine in the shape of a pheasant, with openwork tail feathers. Marks: Marked with 'Standing Lion in a Shield', probably Leeuwarden. The Netherlands. Makersmark 'MS above a five-pointed star'. Later marks: Dutch 'Crowned O' for old work (during the French occupation, period 1807-1812). French import mark 'Poinçon Charançon' (from 1893) for foreign work with a minimum grade of 800/1000.
