Description
A three-piece garniture clock and candelabra, gilt bronze mounted on Carrara marble. Allegory of Science and Painting. 19th century.
Centred with an imposing mantel clock, gilt and patinated bronze mounted on Carrara marble.
Finished with a crowned goddess, depicted with a caduceus or herald's staff (Health - Pharmacy). Also featuring a globe (Geography) and a pot of gold (Prosperity).
The goddess is flanked by two putti, representing allegories of science and the arts, respectively.
The movement has a half-hour striking mechanism and is signed “Vincenti à Paris”.
The clock is flanked by two matching candelabra with 6 candle holders.
Gilt and patinated bronze, standing on two wood pedestals.
Height of the candlesticks (total): 53 cm.
Dimensions: (W:50 x H:47 x L:21 cm)
