A Pair of Victorian Gothic Revival chimney ornaments, gilded and patinated bronze, Gothic Revival, circa 1840. Gilded and patinated bronze.A pair of mantel ornaments according to B. Days (Birmingham) patent and constructed in such a way that, in accordance with the patent, they can be used for fire screens, flower or fragrance pots, clock cases, candle shades, and various other useful purposes.Probably produced by the patent holder Snow Hill of Birmingham.England, circa 1840. A similar pair is in the collection of the Victoria & Albert Museum in London, inventory number M.64-1967 (https://collections.vam.ac.uk/item/O80977/chimney-ornament-day-b/). Dimensions: (W:14 x H:60,5 cm) Condition: Small missing piece to one of the ornaments.
