Restorations
The work of Nicolas Gribelin (1637-1719), who was born in Blois and moved to Paris around 1660, where he joined the guild of Saint-Germain-des-Prés before moving to the guild of the city when they were unified in 1675. By this time, he was already 'Monseigneur's clockmaker', and four of his clocks appeared in the inventory of Monseigneur's possessions in 1689. He worked on rue de Buci with his nephew Charles Gribelin, supplying numerous clocks to the nobility and courtiers of the day.
