A straight-sided secretary desk in amaranth satin veneer with boxwood inlay, featuring a reserved-panel design. It opens to reveal a drawer in the front panel, a drop-down flap lined on the reverse with green leather embossed with a small iron stamp, and two doors. The upper section contains four compartments and six drawers. The lower section conceals a storage compartment. Top in grey Saint Anne marble with a recessed edge. Stamped ‘Montigny’. Claude MONTIGNY (1734–1800). Cited as a master in 1766 and bearing the guild hallmark (on the upper crossbars) Paris, Louis XVI period. H_141 cm W_96 cm D_39 cm Peeling of the veneer. The offcuts are probably the original ones.
