Linden wood panel.
Inscribed ‘Bertin’ on the reverse.
16.2 x 21.8 cm
On the reverse are two wax seals: JB (for John Biderman) and (part of) Riquier, notary in Rouen (Pierre Jean Baptiste Ricquier, notary from 25 November 1806, practising until 1827). A painting by David Teniers after Lorenzo Lotto, now in the Louvre, bears the same seal. It comes from the estate sale of Robert de Saint-Victor (1738–1822), President of the Chamber of Accounts in Rouen; his estate sale, Paris, 26 November 1822 and 7 January 1823, lot 130 (D. Teniers, subject in the style of Raphael, inv. MI1004).
