Description
ROBERT LE HÉROS for the Longwy Art Workshops, spherical vase, ‘Colonial Spheres’ collection, ‘L’Hebier’ model, made of earthenware with a polychrome enamel decoration featuring foliage and geometric motifs in shades of red, yellow and orange. Stamp of the Longwy Art and Enamel Workshop, stamp of Robert le Héros, inscription “L’Hebier, ref. 168”. Robert le Héros was a group formed by four graduates of the École des Arts Décoratifs in Paris in the 1980s, who distinguished themselves at the time through their use of vibrant colours and botanical motifs. Following Michelle Kostka’s appointment as head of the Longwy factory in 1991, collaborations multiplied to create new designs for the Longwy factory. It was against this backdrop that Robert le Héros became involved in 1996, providing designs for the ‘Boules coloniales’ collection, of which our vase is a part.
