‘PAGES’ PAIR OF PORCELAIN FIGURINES MEISSEN, AFTER A DESIGN BY KÄNDLER, 19TH CENTURY A pair of polychrome glazed porcelain figurines depicting a pair of seated pagies. One depicts a male, the other a female accompanied by her puppy. The dogs wear purple collars accented with gold and adorned with bells. Fine craftsmanship and painting, particularly in the naturalistic rendering of the coat. Period casts based on the famous historical models created in the 18th century by Johann Joachim Kändler for the Meissen Manufactory.
