RUSSIAN PORCELAIN CUP AND SAUCER FROM THE ‘COBALT’ SERVICE Imperial Porcelain Manufactory, Saint Petersburg, c. 1825–1894 The cup, with a gilded interior, and the saucer are decorated with floral motifs on a cobalt blue ground, with a gilded pebble-patterned border Marks: green mark of Alexander II beneath the imperial crown (cup), blue mark of Nicholas I beneath the imperial crown (saucer) Cup: H. 7.7 cm, D. 7.6 cm; Saucer: D. 14.8 cm Minor chip to the rim of the saucer We would like to thank Vladimir Levshenkov, a specially invited porcelain expert, for his assistance in describing this lot.
