For over fifty years, Élguja Amashukeli, known as Goudji, has been developing a unique body of work in goldsmithing, drawing on ancient traditions and a highly personal vision of beauty. He first came to prominence in 1975 at the Sven Gallery with the support of Hubert de Givenchy, and was subsequently recognised in 1977 at an exhibition at the Musée des Arts Décoratifs, quickly establishing himself as a leading figure in the arts and crafts. Inspired by his Georgian heritage and the ancient arts, he combines metal, semi-precious stones and enamel in works of great formal richness, where precision and imagination are in perfect balance. Recognised by institutions and major collectors, Goudji occupies a key place in contemporary goldsmithing, bridging the heritage of the decorative arts and personal creativity.
