Description
RENAULT JUVAQUATRE Model: AEB2 Registration number: GD-780-EP Chassis number: 916820 Serial number: 12450 Body number: 12224 First registration: 01/01/1939 Fuel: Petrol Mileage: 12,379 km on the odometer (5-digit odometer) Collector’s registration certificate (pre-1960 vehicle exempt from MOT) The Juvaquatre, launched in 1937, was the first mass-market car model designed and marketed by Renault, which until then had preferred to focus solely on high-end vehicles. A rival to the Peugeot 202 and Simca 8, it was the brand’s first car to feature a monocoque body and independent front suspension. Initially available only as the ‘Coach’ version (a two-door, four-seater saloon), it was soon produced in a utility version, followed by a four-door saloon and finally the ‘Dauphinoise’ (estate). It is the only car designed during Louis Renault’s time whose production was continued by the Régie Nationale des Usines Renault after the Second World War. It was phased out in 1960, replaced by the legendary Renault 4. The model on offer is a 1939 Coach. This first-generation version is quite rare. It has undergone a restoration some time ago, which has given it a lovely patina. It starts easily and runs well, though a service will still be required for this vehicle, which has not been used for several months. Condition summary: - Older restoration - Vehicle in very sound condition - Presentable paintwork, a few imperfections - Exterior chrome trim pitted - Very clean interior - Passenger door handle ‘tinkered with’ - No visible corrosion - Engine in perfect working order - Old tyres - Recent 6 CV battery - Windscreen wiper arms misaligned - Servicing required
