Description
A lyre-shaped skeleton clock with calendar functions, crafted from chiselled and gilded bronze, decorated with pearl-graining and fluted leaves (one element is missing and has been replaced). The annular dial (with grooved edge) features Roman numerals in black and Arabic numerals in black and red, signed ‘Adam Lechopié A Paris’, who was granted his master’s certificate on 10 January 1758, indicating the seconds, minutes, hours and the date of the month. It is surmounted by a radiant mask, flanked by cascading fruit. The base consists of a white marble moulded plinth, decorated with small chains, resting on four spindle-shaped feet.
