Description
LOPEZ or LOPES Brothers, a memento of the Grand Tour.
A circular top in marbled inlay, set on a moulded walnut base carved with godrons, resting on four curved legs joined by an X-shaped crossbar.
Lopez label beneath the top.
Height: 74 cm – Diameter: 71 cm
Note: The Lopez (or Lopes) workshops specialised in the production of hard marble tops and stone marquetry, and were based in the heart of Palermo, on the Corso Cassaro Morto, now the Corso Vittorio Emanuele. Active from the early 19th century and throughout that century, this workshop counted Salvatore, Filippo and Francesco Lopes amongst its members.
