A ‘bonheur-du-jour’ desk in rosewood with lemon-tree-vein inlay; the top of the tier of drawers and leather-covered compartments; the writing surface, sheathed in leather (showing signs of wear), reveals drawers. It rests on front console legs featuring winged female busts in chiselled and gilded bronze, ending in clogs and joined by a base strut (restorations).
