Marie-Alexandrine-Olympe ARSON (1814 – Neuilly-sur-Indre, after 1870). Blue and white hyacinths. Watercolour on vellum, signed in graphite pencil in the bottom right-hand corner and dated 1838. 25.5 x 20 cm. Gilded frame. Background: Olympe Arson was a pupil of Pierre-Joseph Redouté; a brilliant artist, at the age of just 21 she won a medal at the 1834 Salon des Beaux-Arts.
