Collectors’ fossils. A fine Mosasaur tooth with its root still attached to the natural matrix. Mosasaurus anceps. 65 million years old. Total length approx. 10.5 cm. A fine specimen showing the natural mineral setting in which the fossil was found: a hard, phosphatic limestone matrix interspersed with bone fragments. This famous extinct giant marine reptile, a mega-predator contemporary with the dinosaurs and the undisputed master of the oceans, could reach a length of fifteen metres.
