Description
Collectors’ fossils. Large Spinosaurus tooth with its root. Spinosaurus aegypticus. 94–100 million years old. Length approx. 13 cm. A superb fossilised tooth, a rare specimen of this size and quality. The largest known predatory dinosaur. Weighing up to nine tonnes, six metres tall and eighteen metres long: it is three metres longer than the largest known T-Rex specimen. Spectacular dorsal sail, webbed hind limbs, elongated crocodilian head, slender, sharp teeth: this mega-predator, a hunter lying in wait in shallow waters, is the first known dinosaur capable of moving both on land and in water. Did it even dare to challenge the Mosasaur? As found (standard consolidation). Sahara. Lower Cretaceous.
