Description
CRISTALLERIE DU CREUSOT. Calvary on a pedestal, crafted from crystal cut into flat panels with inlaid sulphide decoration depicting Christ with his hands bound and wearing the crown of thorns. The ensemble is surmounted by a cross. 19th century. Height: 24.5 cm. We find a Calvary dated around 1820, employing the same techniques of cut crystal and sulphide inlay, on page 73 of the book *La manufacture de Cristaux du Creusot 1786–1832* by Viviane Quartarone, Les Nouvelles Editions du Creusot.
