"The ascription of this painting to Lopez's maturity, which can probably be dated to the early 18th century, is evident in its style, quality and soft pictorial draftsmanship: comparisons can be made with the beautiful and little-known Vase of Flowers in the National Trust in Nostell Priory (England), among many others". Similarities can be seen in the almost identical structure, "with the festoon that twists around the vase, as well as in the workmanship of the flowers and the mellow brushstrokes".
