Description
Chinese porcelain soup plate, Qianlong period (1736–1795), produced by the East India Company. The Chinese Imari-style decoration features a three-colour palette: cobalt blue, iron red and gold highlights. The bowl is decorated with a bouquet of peonies and the rim with four floral bouquets. A gilded border runs around the rim. Diameter 23 cm. There is a crack on the lower left edge, as well as wear to the gilding and a crack.
