Description
Tuile-Fionnuala ONORA Migalily – 2020 Glazed ceramic Signed 13 × 12 × 10 cm Glazed ceramic; signed 5.12 × 4.73 × 3.94 in. Provenance: Galerie Lefebvre et Fils Acquired from the gallery by the current owner Ontario Tuile-Fionnuala grew up surrounded by workshops, kilns and hands shaping clay. Very quickly, her pieces began to appear in galleries. Very quickly, she was being talked about as a ‘child prodigy’. Every creation comes entirely from her own hands. No moulding, no shortcuts: hand-built, hand-painted, with finishes crafted with a clear intention. It is a choice that demands an unusual level of discipline for someone of her age. Her narrative world is brimming with enchanted forests, mushrooms that seem to have escaped from parallel worlds, fantastical creatures, and gleaming golden stars that capture the light. Her cups, her mugs adorned with chains, her Yunomi and Americano vessels are never simple: they are visual narratives, little worlds you hold in your hands. Tuile does not work with just any clay. She chooses Laguna B3, textured glazes that form bubbles during firing, and finishes with a golden lustre. Her pieces disappear from galleries as quickly as they arrive. Tuile-Fionnuala ONORA
