Description
A jam dish made of 950‰ silver and cobalt blue glass, circular in shape, resting on a concave triangular base with ball-shaped feet. The openwork uprights, decorated in a neoclassical style with vases, ribbons and stylised leaves, are joined by an openwork gallery; the body is adorned with garlands of vine leaves held in place by ribbon bows and lion-headed mascarons with movable rings. The lid is engraved with a wreath of foliage surmounted by a fretel in the shape of an eagle with outstretched wings and bearing a monogram. This jam jar is accompanied by twelve monogrammed silver-plated spoons in the ‘uniplat’ style. Hallmarks: 1st titre Paris (1798–1809), Paris Medium Guarantee (1798–1809), Association of Silversmiths (1794/7), Paris Medium Register (1809) and Master Silversmith (different Master Silversmith’s mark on the spoons) H_26.5 cm – D_15 cm Weight of jam dish: 817 g – Weight of spoons: 183 g
