Description
A baluster-shaped lidded porcelain pot by the Compagnie des Indes, with polychrome decoration and gold highlights. The body is adorned with a coat of arms beneath a stylised helmet, supported by two facing lions, set within a border of white relief foliage, small flowers and polychrome panels; the shoulder and lid feature a pink chequered pattern embellished with floral cartouches, and the lid handle is seed-shaped. Marked in red beneath the base. Chinese export work for the European market, 18th/19th century H_17 cm (slight wear to the decoration)
