Brussels and Leipzig, Méline, Cans & Cie, 1844–1846. 5 volumes in-16, garnet half-calf with corners, plain decorated spine, comb-cut edges (contemporary binding). A very rare Belgian pirated edition, published at the same time as the original Parisian edition, which appeared from Fellens and Dufour in 1844–1845 in two illustrated grand in-8 volumes.
Attractive romantic bindings, with spines uniformly faded. Rare, scattered small foxing spots. Coat-of-arms stamp on the reverse of the title page.
