A very fine autograph dedication signed by Pierre Loti: to Mr Alphonse Daudet, a sailor who is fond of him, dated Brest, 24 November [82] (date trimmed).
This appears to be one of the very first instances in which the signature ‘Julien Viaud’ was abandoned in favour of the pseudonym ‘Loti’.
