Set of 2 in-12 volumes, fawn half-maroquin with corner pieces, gilt head, cover and spine (A. Lobstein). First edition of *La Hyène enragée*, a collection devoted chiefly to war memoirs, during which Loti served on land. One of 175 copies on Holland paper.
A largely original edition of *Les Alliés qu’il nous faudrait*, a passionately pro-Turkish pamphlet and an eloquent account of the turmoil that agitated Loti when Turkey sided with the Germans. One of the first 25 copies on Japanese paper.
