A collected edition, partly in the original form, expanded with notes and previously unpublished short stories written between 1881 and 1892.
The first volume contains a portrait of Maupassant engraved by Jeanniot as a double proof and a study by Pol Neveux.
One of 20 copies on Imperial Japan paper, one of 100 in the deluxe edition (no. 68), numbered and initialled by the publisher.
