RICHEPIN (Jean). *La Mer*. Paris, Maurice Dreyfous, 1886. In-12, emerald half-maroquin with corner pieces, gilt head, cover and spine, untrimmed (Bretault). One of 20 copies printed on Holland paper, the only large-format paper used.
This copy is enhanced with two seascapes in watercolour by Eugène Belville, one on the title page (7 x 10 cm) and another, signed and highlighted with white gouache, framing the title of the preface (17 x 12 cm). Also included is an autograph signed letter from Jean Richepin to his ‘dear director and friend’, 1 March undated, 1 p. in-12, and an autograph signed letter from Belville, 6 November 1894, 2 pp. in-12.
