SOULIÉ (Frédéric). *The Castle of Walstein*. Paris, Souverain, 1841. 3 volumes in-8, green long-grain half-maroquin with small corners, gilt fillet, plain spine decorated with double gilt fillets, yellow edges (contemporary binding). First edition.
This edition is extremely rare and is not held by the BnF. The only copy listed in the CCFr, held at the Évreux Library, is incomplete in the first volume.
A copy bound for Prince Maurice Dietrichstein (1775–1864), tutor to the ‘Aiglon’. It is described in the 1997 sale under lot no. 262. All the books in his library were bound uniformly and generally bear, as here, his handwritten signature on the front endpaper.
