In-12, binding with hinged boards of light-coloured wood edged with ebony strips, smooth spine in black calfskin with title in red lacquer, linings and endpapers in grey nubuck, untrimmed, cover and spine, sliding box in light wood and ebony (Antonio P[erez] N[oriega]). First edition.
One of the 16 limited-edition copies on Dutch vellum.
*Requiem for a Nun*, a play in two parts and four scenes, was adapted for the stage from William Faulkner’s novel in dialogue form, written in 1951 and translated into French in 1957 with a preface by Albert Camus. The play was first performed on 20 September 1956 at the Théâtre des Mathurins, with sets by Léonor Fini.
