It is accompanied by an autograph letter signed by Céline to René de Planhol (1889–1940), literary critic and editor of the newspaper *La Nouvelle lanterne* (1 p. in-8 in blue ink, March 1933): Dear Sir, it was with great pleasure that I read your article on *Le Voyage*. This has reconciled me with the opposition critics, whose analytical insight is, on the whole, astonishing. You have judged it very well yourself. Please accept my sincere gratitude and appreciation. Enclosed, in an identical binding, is the January 1933 issue of *La Nouvelle lanterne* containing René de Planhol’s article on *Voyage*. One of the 60 special copies bound in Holland paper.
