In-12, dark grey morocco leather, each cover adorned with a superimposition of six geometric pieces in a mosaic pattern of bronze-green or black box grain, with red box grain highlights on four of them, plain spine with title in black and red enamel, dark grey suede endpapers, red suede half-endpapers, edges gilt on endpapers, cover, slipcase and case (Honnelaître). First edition.
One of the first 50 copies bound in Rives vellum.
Autograph dedication signed by the author: ‘To Henri-Michel Tranchimand, in the light of a war now past. Sincere tribute from the author. Julien Gracq, 23 October 1995.’
