First edition of this account of a journey to the Holy Land undertaken by Loti in the company of his friend Léo Thémèze – the inspiration for Jean Berny in *Matelot* – and the Duke of Dino. One of the 25 first-impression copies on imperial Japanese paper. A very fine copy bound by Pierre-Lucien Martin.
