Brass clock (or ‘Tischzappler’) with a grand strike, pendulum visible on the front, steel dial with Roman and Arabic numerals, front plate chiselled with a foliage motif and signed ‘FRANZ XAVER SEITZ IN MUNCHEN’.
In its carved walnut case, likely a replica of the original case, as the clockmaker was renowned for his wooden creations adorned with scrolls and foliage. Germany, c. 1780. 37 x 29 x 12 cm (case)
