Description
Delphin MASSIER (1836–1907), in VALLAURIS. A significant set featuring a peacock, in polychrome glazed ceramic. The small vase is decorated with a high-relief design of a peacock and reed leaves; the plant pot is decorated with irises.
Both pieces are signed and marked ‘Delphin MASSIER Vallauris A.M.’ (Alpes-Maritimes). Circa 1890. Total height 155 cm. A few small chips and missing pieces; a 25 cm crack on the base, which nevertheless remains very sturdy.
