Jean CHAPIN (1896–1964) Boats moored on the Brittany coast Oil on panel Signed lower left 54 x 83 cm – with frame: 75 x 108 cm The reverse of the panel bears the inscription: Galerie DAUNOU Jean Chapin was a French painter and lithographer born in Paris, whose work was regularly exhibited in the major Parisian salons (a member of the Salon des Indépendants from 1919, the Salon d’Automne and the Société Nationale des Beaux-Arts). He trained at the École Boulle and the Académie de la Grande Chaumière.
