Description
ITALIAN WORK FROM THE 1930s ‘Allegory of Summer’ A spectacular dining room cabinet in stained burl walnut. The dynamic front features two curved side doors and two solid central doors, each topped by a drawer – the handles and keyholes are in double-patina bronze. The central motif, a female figure holding a sickle in her right hand and an ear of wheat in her left, is carved in the round and positioned at the centre. The body of the cabinet rests on four pillars, with fluted finials, set upon a sculpted base edged with metal around its perimeter. H. 101 cm - W. 200 cm - D. 60 cm Restorations and signs of wear.
