Van SLINGELAND Pieter (1640-1691) "Portrait of a young woman, cartouche mentioning Pieter Van Slingeland". Ink wash on paper, tondo, diameter 15 cm. Fragment of fleur-de-lys watermark and 4WR. This could be the same model, slightly older than the painting in the Staten Museum of Kunst in Copenhagen, The Girl with the Parrot. We can recognise the precision and meticulousness of the line close to his master Gerard Dou. Expert: Mr Jean-Marie LE FELL, expert C.N.E. (38 rue de Trévise 75009 PARIS - 06.03.23.08.53. - [email protected]) Pieter Van SLINGELANG was a portrait and genre painter, draughtsman and miniaturist.
