d'ORLÉANS Marie (1813-1839) " Jeanne d'Arc en prière " Large bronze subject with medallic patina, signed on the terrace and stamped SUSSE Frères, mention of Léon et Marie Lefranc le 19 mai / 1876-1901, 49 x 20 x 22 cm. Removable sword. D'ORLEANS Marie (1813-1839). Princess and Duchess of Wurtemberg, Marie D'Orléans was also a sculptress. She enjoyed great success with her marble statue of Joan of Arc, now in the Musée de Versailles. This work was commissioned by her father Louis-Philippe in 1835 for the historical galleries of Versailles.
