Description
Lady's sloping desk with curved front and sides in veneer and painted imitation Vernis Martin decoration of gallant scenes in the 18th century taste and landscape. It opens with a flap forming a writing desk and revealing a niche, three drawers and a secret compartment. The lower rail is curved and the whole rests on four curved legs. Decorated with bronze and brass. Signed Martin on the flap. Louis XV style, circa 1900. 97 x 90 x 80 cm. One foot restored, minor damage to the veneer and marquetry.
