The author, a professor at a university in Alabama, spent twenty years of his life cataloguing the works (over 10,000) that make up this bibliography: ‘is to furnish an accurate and comprehensive handbook of the titles and valuable books, pamphlets and articles… on the Negro in Africa and America.’ This book also serves as a bibliography on the enslavement of Black Americans.
