First edition under this title. This book, which is far less comprehensive, was originally published in 1817 under the title *Traité du choix des livres*. Waterstains throughout. A fine copy, accompanied by a photocopy of a contract between the author and his publisher, Victor Lagier, concerning the publication of three titles, including this one. Included: - PEIGNOT (Gabriel). Répertoire bibliographique universel, containing a critical review of the specialised bibliographies published to date, and of a large number of other bibliographical works. Paris, A.-A.
